The Lagos State Police, on Monday, paraded four suspects believed to be involved in the attack on two banks in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, recently .
They were paraded at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
The suspects, Monday Omoboye a.k.a. Alarm Blow, 39, Bright Agbojule, 25, Monday Ikuesan, 37, and Promise Abiwa, 20, were paraded by the outgoing Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Kayode Aderanti.
The police also recovered two Lexus SUVs with registration numbers KRD 29 DA and 642 DQ, as well as an Infinity SUV with registration number, EKY 641 DB.
The police alleged that the SUVs were bought from their share of the bank loot.
Parading the suspects, Aderanti said on I June 2015, a gang of armed robbers invaded two banks on Ijede road in Ikorodu and carted away huge sums of money through th waterways by boat.
He said on 24 June, 2015, another robbery stormed two banks located at Ipakodo in the same Ikorodu and carted away some money.
Aderanti said he visited the robbery scene and started manhunt for the robbers.
He said on 26 June, 2015, one of the robbers, Promise Abiwa, was traced to Igbokodo in Ondo State where he was arrested.
He said his arrest led to more arrests as key members of the gang such as Monday Omoboye, who is a boat operator who drove the speed boat in both the Lekki, Ajah bank robberies.
He said on 29 June 2015, Agbojule Bright was traced to another hideout and was arrested with a Lexus SUV which he bought from his own share of the loot.
The suspects confessed their level of participation in the robbery and their share of the loot.
Aderanti said further investigation was still going on to arrest other suspects said to be at large.
