Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alexis Sanchez will only leave Arsenal during the January transfer window if a replacement is signed.
Sanchez has been linked with Manchester City since August with Manchester United also the latest team to be linked with the Chile forward.
He also denied Arsenal had made a bid for Bordeaux’s Brazilian forward
Malcom as Sanchez’s replacement.
“Sanchez is an exceptional football player, he is a world class player. If that happens, we have to find a different balance in the team,” Wenger said during his pre-match press conference on Friday ahead of Sunday’s Premier League clash at Bournemouth.
“Honestly I cannot tell you much more at the moment about this situation, because nothing is really concrete at the moment. It’s not that I don’t want to inform you, I don’t want to give you wrong information. And at the moment, I must say nothing is decided one way or the other.
“Normally he (Sanchez) would stay at the club until the end of the season but we’ll see.
“A bidding war is always beneficial to the club that can take advantage of it, but we’re not in that… Normally he should stay until the end of the season, but we’ll see.”
Wenger also refused to rule out Jack Wilshere from his side’s game against Bournemouth.
Wilshere sprained his ankle against Chelsea on Wednesday in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals at Stamford Bridge.
“We had very good news yesterday morning. I saw him walking normal, his scan was good,” Wenger said. “He’s (Wilshere) not out yet for the game on Sunday.”
Wenger also revealed Aaron Ramsey will return to the squad after recovering from a muscle injury, while Mesut Ozil has a “50-50” chance of playing because of a slight knee injury that ruled him out the game at Stamford Bridge.
