By James Agberebi: Former Akwa United forward Ibrahim Alhassan was on target for Austria Wien in their 6-2 friendly win against Austrian second division club Wiener Neustadt on Saturday.
The game was part of Austria Wien’s preparation towards the restart of the Austrian top flight, which is on recess.
Nigerian star Alhassan scored in the 77th minute to make it 4-2 for Austria Wien.
Other scorers for Austria Wien are Patrizio Stronati (16th minute) Dominik Prokop (35th minute) Toni Vastic (51st minute) Christoph Monschein (79th minute) and Manprit Sarkaria (87th minute).
Wiener Neustadt’s two goals were scored by Christoph Kobald (12th minute) and Nikola Zivotic (21st minute).
Austria Wien will resume the second stanza of the season with an away clash against rivals Rapid Wien.
They are currently sixth on 26 points in the 10-team Austrian top division league table.
