The Nigerian Army has confirmed the recapture of Gamboru Ngala, Borno, by troops of the Army 7 Division involved in the operation to stamp out terrorism in the North-East.
This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman.
The statement said the troops achieved the feat on Tuesday and had since commenced clearing and mopping up patrol following the recapture of the town previously held by the insurgents.
”The Nigerian Army has retaken the economic and strategic town of Gamboru Ngala, Borno, from the Boko Haram terrorists group today.
”The triumphant troops are now busy with clearing and mopping up patrols,” the statement said.
Usman said details of the feat would soon be made public as troops involved in the operations were in high spirit.
