An early evening rain have left most streets of Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital flooded. The heavy rain which fell for 40 minutes left many streets flooded with the fear that it may portend danger if government do not find solutions to it.
Particularly affected is the Bank road on the way to the State secretariat, and the major dual Ado- Ifaki road at Adebayo area.
Residents says the areas are always flooded anytime rain fall. They said the flood was caused by blocked drainages across the capital city. People also drop dirts inside gutters everytime there is rain thereby blocking drainages.
There is a pile of refuse that have been there for over two months now, at the junction of CAC Oke Itunu, along Federal Housing Road.The drainage of that road, especially the drainage in front of the shopping complex at Housing junction, at the back of Fayose building.
