For the love of poetry and the promotion of creative prowess, Poets in Nigeria, PIN has called for entries for the third edition of Nigerian Students Poetry Prize, NSPP for undergraduates, that will see three lucky winners clinch prizes of N150,000, N100,000 and N50,000 respectively.
Speaking at the unveiling recently in Lagos, that had the presence of Miss Funke Awodiya, author, The Father’s Daughter and some journalists, PIN founder and chairman board of trustees , Mr Eriata Oribhabor said submission of entries opened from January 15th to February 28th. He added that aside the contest rewarding the over all winners with cash prizes, the first 100 entries would be featured in a globally distributed anthology.
“ This poetry contest is geared towards the promotion of creativity by rewarding talents, and setting a platform for young budding writers. So aside rewarding the top three entrants who also double as prize winners with a total cash prize of ¦ 300,000, the top 100 entrants will be featured in a globally distributed anthology.” said Oribhabor.
Calling for deadline for the poetry contest submission, Kolade Olanrewaju Freedom ,Moderator, NSPP 2018 noted that the award sponsored by Godfrey Okoye University, Enugu was opened to to all Nigerian undergraduates studying in Nigeria and the diaspora, provided entrants are from recognized tertiary institutions. .
According to Freedom, “ NSPP, is an initiative of Poets in Nigeria (PIN) designed to stimulate creativity, promote literary excellence and broaden the concept of intellectualism among Nigerian undergraduates.
