Residents of Meiran, in Alimosho Local Government, Lagos State has sent a “Save our Soul” plea to the governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode over the invasion of the area by men of the underworld that has resulted in killings, and raping innocent citizens living in the area..

In the petition written by a community leader living in the area, Mr Ranti Aremu, armed robbers have been having their ways in the community for the past two months, breaking into homes night and day, beating, killing and raping their victims. Aremu said that the officers and men of Meiran Police Division have been overwhelmed by the activities as don’t ” seem to have an answer” to the problems.

He said: “When residents report cases of this robbery to the police at the station, they (police) will ask the victim to pay some money to enable them investigate the crime and write their report. They also collect money for police report on properties stolen from the victims by the armed robbers. Properties and cash worth millions have been lost to robbers in the last two months”.
